The Brief
This heritage listed, sly grog shop was originally built in 1825. The haunt of convicts, bushrangers, whalers, and ladies of the night – the stories it could tell. Basically, derelict with no working kitchen or inside bathroom, this was a full-on heritage restoration project.
Without removing one piece of the original structure, we stabilised the house, renovated the existing rooms, added a bathroom, and built a kitchen extension with a walled garden. The client’s favourite part? The sofa in the kitchen by the fire. Cosy doesn’t even describe it.
